Map Description: The geographic distribution of total, total surface-water, and total ground-water withdrawals for industrial use is shown. Louisiana, Indiana, and Texas accounted for almost 38 percent of total industrial withdrawals. The largest fresh surface-water withdrawals were in Louisiana and Indiana, which together accounted for 32 percent of the total fresh surface-water withdrawals. The largest fresh ground-water withdrawals were in Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas, which together accounted for 23 percent of the total fresh ground-water withdrawals.
